PM BHATTARAI BLAMES FOREIGN INTERFERENCE FOR HIS TROUBLES By Bhola B Rana Kathmandu, 4 Aug. Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai Friday attempted to extricate himself from a political quagmire in which he has been caught by blaming foreign interference in Nepal’s internal affairs. “Keys are somewhere else. But by saying that, one shouldn’t lose heart. One shouldn’t leave working. “You have understood, regional and international moves. Because of them, you can’t work ,‘ Bhattarai told some reporters at his official residence Friday, according to Kantipur. The Prime Minister admitted deep foreign interference when Maoists themselves signed pacts in New Delhi with seven parliamentary parties brokered by India. The agreement ultimately toppled monarchy and invited greater direct foreign interference in Nepal. For the first time UN was invited to handle even political matters. Consultations between leaders of Nepal’s major political and Indian rulng,clique, opposition and officials has become a regular affair. This will continue. Extremist politics of the Maoist hue has invited foreign interference. :”Neighbours [read China] have spoken on federalism. You know what happened on the appointment of chief secretary [India lobbied for the appointment of a terai resident]..
