POPULAR TOURIST DESTINATION LUKLA IN EVEREST REGION PLUGED INTO DARKNESS Kathmandu, 13 Aug.: Lukla and adjoining areas have been plunged into darkness following the damage caused to a hydro power plant. A landslide triggered by incessant rain damaged hydro plant supplying electricity to the settlement –a popular staging post for trekkers visiting the Mount Everest region. to the Altogether 193 households have been affected. Nnnn SHER BAHADUR DEUBA FACTION IN NC CONVENES MEET OF FOLLOWERS Kathmandu, 13 Aug.: NC leader Sher Bahadur Deuba has convened a meting of his followers Monday to discuss strategy amid strained relations with establishment showing some signs of improvement. The meeting comes ahead of a central working committee meeting Thursday. Deuba has been demanding greater representation of his supporters in party bodies.
