QUAKE CAUSES DAMAGE ALONG ROLPA/RUKUM BORDER
Kathmandu, 25 About three dozen persons were injured in a stampede again Saturday at Rukum district headquarters following two quakes Saturday morning with an
epicenter in on the Rukum Rolpa border.
The bigger quake at 9.40 in the morning measured 5.2 on the Richter scale.
First reports said at least one dozen houses have developed cracks in Mahat VDV and adjoining areas.
Twenty tremors were felt in the region Thursday to Friday morning.

DEUBA REITERATES DEMAND FOR CA REINSTATEMENT
Kathmandu, 25 Aug.: Senior leader of the Nepali Congress, Sher Bahadur Deuba, has underlined the need of seeking a political outlet by reviving the defunct Constituent Assembly (CA) even for some days after forging consensus among the political parties on the disputed issues of constitution-writing, RSS reports..
Deuba said this while addressing to the concluding programme of a sapling planting organised here on Saturday by the Hamro Mitra Yuba Samuha, a local youth group, on the occasion of the 30th BP Memorial Day.
He said the election should be held only after promulgating a constitution. Former Prime Minister Deuba also said that reinstatement of the CA was necessary even to and the present Interim Constitution for holding a general election or to bring a constitution by reaching consensus on the disputed issues.
The NC's senior leader stressed that there was no alternative to consensus among the political parties and that the Nepali Congress should lead the government of national consensus.
Nepali Congress Kathmandu district president Bhimsen Das Pradhan and party leader PL Singh also expressed the view that the Nepali Congress should take the lead in bailing the country out of the present political and constitutional impasse.
Some 1,600 saplings of different species were planted at seven different areas including Kushlechaur, on the banks of the Bishnumati River and in Dhalku.
Coordinator of the Samuha Kumardev Manandhar presided over the programme.
RSS adds from Bhadrapur:: General Secretary of the Nepali Congress Krishna Sitaula has stressed the need of forming a new government by forging consensus among the political parties to settle the current political transition.
Speaking at a programme organized by Nepali Congress here in Jhapa on Saturday, he claimed that Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai would resign from his post and new government under NC leadership would be formed within the coming Dashain festival in November. President Ram Baran Yadav has also called on the political parties to forge consensus to this effect, he said..
