RUKMA SHUMSHERE RANA-LED NOC HOLDING FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY Kathmandu, 11 Aug.: The Nepal Olympic Committee (NOC) led by Rukma Shumshere Rana recognized by supreme court is holding its first general assembly Saturday in the capital . National Sports Council (NOC), the apex national sports governing body, is moving to recognize the Rana committee following follow-up move by the supreme court to implement its decision granting recognition of the NOC led by Dhruba Bahadur Pradhan. Pradhan is a former IGP. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) reiterated its support for the Pradhan-led committee in London Friday before some Nepali reporters covering the 2012 London Olympics. “There is only one NOC recognized by IOC—the one led by Pradhan, IOC is clear on its stance that no other entity can grant recognition to National Olympic Committee.” IOC National Olympic Committee Relations Chief Jerome Polvey said. nnnn
