SENIOR CHINESE DIPLOMAT HOLDS DISCUSSIONS WITH DPM SHRESTHA UPDATE Kathmandu, 11 Aug.: Chinese Vice Minister Ms. Fu Ying paid a courtesy call on Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Singh Durbar on Saturday, RSS reports.. Talking to journalists after the meeting, DPM Shrestha said they held discussions on further consolidating the mutual relations by making an evaluation of the relations between the two countries. Chinese Vice Minister Ying arrived here today leading a seven-member delegation to participate in the ninth meeting of the Nepal-China Foreign Secretary level consultative mechanism. In the meeting, the Chinese Vice Minister Ying expressed gratitude towards Nepal for its 'One China' policy and the Chinese side also pledged to expand the assistance to Nepal as per the need, DPM Shrestha said of the talks. The Chinese Vice Minister inquired about the peace process and constitution writing in Nepal. She was also briefed on the latest political situation in the country. Minister for Foreign Affairs Shrestha said in the Secretary-level talks between Nepal and China, discussions will be held on the implementation of the agreements reached during Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao's visit to Nepal and further expanding the economic relations. The meeting taking place after four years is taking place in the Capital on Monday. The eighth consultative meeting was held in Beijing, China.
