SHARAT SINGH BHANDARI SUPPORTS EMBATTLED PRESIDENT
Kathmandu, 22 Aug.: Chairman of the newly formed Madhes Samajbadi Party Sharat Singh Bhandari has said that the President's rejecting the ordinances related to the election is a welcome step, RSS reports.
Talking to media persons briefly at Biratnagar Airport today, Bhandari praised the President's decision to send back the ordinances to the government.
"Formation of an alliance among the political parties inside and outside the government will not ensure national consensus," he said.
"The incumbent government is attempting to capture state power sidelining the constituent assembly ( CA) election issues," said the former Defense Minister Bhandari, stressing the need of institutionalizing the decisions made by the CA on the basis of national consensus and thereby forming a national unity government.
The announcement of CA elections should take place on the basis of consensus, he added.

PERSONAL, PARTISAN INTERESTS BEHIND FAILURE TO
RESOLVE CRISIS SAYS SURYA BAHADUR THAPA
Kathmandu, 22 Aug.: Chairman of the Rastriya Janashakti Party (RJP) Surya Bahadur Thapa has said that the present political crisis could not be resolved because of personal and partisan interests of the leaders, RSS reports.
Speaking with a group of journalist led by Repoters Club Nepal chairman Rishi Dhamala organized at his Maligaun residence today [Wednesday], he said there is no alternative to consensus, adding that all constitutional bodies are being vacant and warned of unexpected crisis in the country.
He said if leaders give up personal interests, the positive results can come and the leaders are capable for that.
On another query, he said the statement of the UCPN-Maoist Chairman of ruling for 20-25 years is a childish statement and it is not a matter of debate.
He also said consensus could not be forged as the UCPN-Maoist was born of authoritarianism and was forcefully plunged into democratic exercise.
