UML LEADER DEAD
Kathmandu, 8 Aug.: CPN-UML Bardiya District Committee Chairman Deep Bahadur Rana passed away in course of treatment at the Thapathali-based Norvic International Hospital on Tuesday night, RSS reports.
He was 63.
He had been suffering from high blood pressure, diabetes and kidney-related problems. He is survived by his spouse, two sons and two daughters.
Rana has a special contribution to the communist movement in Nepal. He had served in various party ranks. He was the President of the Bardiya District Development Committee from 2054 to 2059 BS.
According to the party source, his body will be kept at the party office Madannagar, Balkhu, until 3:00 pm today and will be taken to his home town for last rites.

BROTHER KILLED IN DISPUPTE
Kathmandu, 8 Aug.: A man has lost his life in a dispute on property sharing at Dhaijan-2 in Jhapa district, RSS reports from .Kakadvitta.
Dhana Prasad Prasain who was critically injured in an attack by his own younger brother and nephew died in course of treatment at Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences.
The Prasain brothers had a dispute on the issue of sharing five bighas of ancestral land since 2029 BS. According to the police, Dhana Prasad´s brother Matrika Prasad and nephews Parasmani and Surya had allegedly attacked him on Saturday morning while he was working on his paddy field.
Following the incident, police have arrested the three on Monday. Investigation into the case is underway.
