UML TO MAKE PUBLIC ITS OFFICIAL POSITION ON NINE DEMANDS OF JANAJATIS, MADESHIS Kathmandu, 29 Aug.: UML standing committee Tuesday wrote to dissidents and asked them to resume work. The opposition party secretariat has prepared a written paper addressing 9-point demand. They party is preparing to take action against dissidents who are still defiant for indiscipline. The paper addressing demands of Janajatis and Madeshi leaders is being made public Wednesday, Party Vice-chairman Ashok Rai is leading dissidents with calls for single ethnic federal units with identity against an official party position advocating ethnic units. A body headed by Secretary Shanker Pokhrel is overseeing the activities of dissidents. Meanwhile, Rai has proposed to launch Federal Socialist Party and a statute has been drafted, published reports said. nnnn
