MOVE TO PASS ORDINANCES DOESN’T TAKE PLACE Kathmandu, 24 Aug.::A controversial cabinet move to approve nine ordinances through presidential proclamation Friday fell through. A scheduled cabinet meet wasn’t held didn’t saying more homework was needed. The cabinet didn’t approve seven ordinances Thursday citing the same reasons. President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav has been discouraging rule through ordinances by the caretaker government of Prime Minister Baruram Bhattarai.. Nnnn UPDATE POLICEMAN KILLE IN A HIT AND RUN CASE Kathmandu, 24 Aug.: Policeman PradipRai died while undergoing treatment Friday for injuries sustained in a hit and run case involving a 19-year-old youth who alsodied at a separate hospital. The boy was driving without a license—frequent occurrences in the capital. The pillion rider was seriously injured in the accident in Bhaktapur. Had the boy survived, he could have been charged for attempted murder and driving without license. nnnn
