Nnnn KAMAL THAPA CALLS FOR AGITATION TO HIGHLIGHT NATIONALISM Kathmandu, 19 Sept.: Chairman of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP)-Nepal, Kamal Thapa, has said that there is a need of agitation for nationalism now to protect national integrity of the country, RSS reports.. Addressing the students gathering organized by the National Democratic Students Organization here today, Thapa said there is a need of agitation for nationalism to protect nationality against submissive thinking developing in the national politics. He said stability could not be maintained in the country though the movement was successful as it was initiated in foreign countries. Chairman Thapa said quality education and education making one self-dependent could not be developed due to the tradition of dividing office bearers and their appointment due to political sharing in the Tribhuvan University. Chairman of the Organisation, Rajaram Bartaula, said big changes have taken place in the world from the power of the students and added that there is a need of improvement in curriculum to make the education timely. RSS nnnn LANDSLIDE BLOCKS BAITADI, DARCHULA SECTION OF MAHAKALI HIGHWAY Kathmandu, 19 Sept.: : Thirty-five houses at Gokuleshwar VDC-1 are at imminent risk from a landslide triggered by incessant rains since three days, RSS reports from Darchula.. The Baitadi-Darchula section of the Mahakali Highway has been blocked by the landslide. Hundreds of families in the village had been displaced by the landslide before this and this time it has grown bigger, putting more houses at risk. Thirty-five houses are at imminent risk of the landslide. Locals are living in perpetual fear of their houses being swept away by the landslide as it becomes bigger and bigger with continuous downpour. They have asked for assistance from the district administration for checking the landslide. The Baitadi-Darchula road remains blocked by the deposition of the landslide debris on a 50-metre stretch of the road. Vehicles and passengers have been stranded due to this. Efforts are on the clear the road but it might take some more days to remove the landslide debris, according to the District Road Office. nnnn
