EVEN AMID INTERAL DIFFERENCES, INDIAN AMBASSADOR ROOTS FOR FEDERATION Kathmandu, 1 Sept.: Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Jayant Prasad, has said federalism was necessary in Nepal for economic prosperity and proportional development, RSS reports from Biratnagar. Addressing a meeting of border journalists here on Saturday, the Indian Ambassador said India had also faced difficulties in implementing federalism and stressed the federalism based on economic and social aspects. "The Government of India always wants development and progress of Nepal," he said, adding that there was no need of any barricade on Nepal-India border area. The Indian Ambassador said friendly relations Nepal and India are enjoying are exemplary in the world. Underlining the need of political stability, development of economic and social sectors and utilization of hydro power resources in Nepal, he urged journalists from the both countries to focus the issues of bilateral help and interests. He assured that he would write to the Indian Home Ministry regarding the complaints about high handedness of Indian Seema Surakhsa Ball (SSB) deputed on the border areas. Some 40 journalists including Yagya Sharma, Mohan Bhandari, Ashok Jha and Suresh Jha (RSS) on behalf of Nepal and Bhuwane Prasad and Pankaj Ranjit from India were present at the meeting. nnnn
