INTEGRATION OF FORMER MAOIST FIGHTERS BEGINS AT THREE CANTONMENTS UPDATE
Kathmandu, 6 Sept. Forms were distributed to former Maoist fighters At Shaktokhor in Chutwan to join Nepal Army(NA) after opposition parties agreed to relax military rules on education and age for their entry into the state army.
A unit of a secretariat under a special committee headed ex-officio by the prime minister will oversee the process expected to be completed in five weeks.
Nearly 100 fighters who opted for retirement submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai through Secretariat Coordinator Balananda Sharma in Chitwan demanding severance installment by 16 September
They also demanded employment, monthlytallowance for injured and displayofweaons stored in cantonmenysat museums.
Integration began at three of five cantonments Thursday.

NORWEGAIN COMPANY WITHDRAWS FROM TAMAOISHI POWER PROJECT
Kathmandu,6 Sept.: Norway’s SN Power, a promoter of the 650MW Tamamoshi has withdrawn from the project citing lack of environment.
The company withdrew at a time when the communist-led government was calling for foreign investment amid acute power shortage.
The move is an embarrassment for the government which has friendly
relations with Norway,.
