MADESH LEADER SAYS ELECTION MEANS TO END CRISIS
Kathmandu, 9 Sept.:: Chairman of the Rastriya Madhes Samajbadi Party, Saharat Singh Bhandari, has said election was the best alternative to remove current political and constitutional crises facing the country, RSS reports from Birgunj.
Speaking at a programme organised on the occasion of the Eid-ul-Fitra (Eid) here on Sunday, he said "People was the decisive power in democracy so that there was no alternative to go for fresh elections."
Saying that his party's main agenda was to build a discrimination free, equitable and prosperous Nepal characterised by equality and freedom, leader Bhandari stressed that Madhesi along with all classes, communities and regions should be granted equal rights and opportunities.
At the programme presided over by Chairperson of Ume Kusum Garh College Dr Kamrul Hoda, Consular General of India to Nepal Ashutosh Agrawal, Rijwan Ansari of CPN-UML and Rastriya Madhes Samajbadi Party District Coordinator Mahabir Sharma, among others highlighted various aspects of Muslim rights.

Kathmandu, 9 Sept : Nepali Congress Vice President Ram Chandra Poudel has opined that the Constituent Assembly (CA) could be revived on the basis of national consensus to end the present political crisis in the country, RSS reports from Butwal..
However, forging national consensus is a must before the revival of the CA, he said. Speaking at a press meet organised by the Nepal Press Union, Rupandehi chapter at Butwal today, leader Poudel said only the government formed with national consensus could settle the disputed issues and revival of the CA was the best alternative to breaking country´s political deadlock.
Efforts are on to forge consensus to end the constitutional complexities in the country, he said. He proposed to promulgate the constitution forging consensus on the disputed issues. Referendum can be held to finalise the issues of federalism, he said, but accused the UCPN (Maoist) of being engaged in the game of finishing off democracy.

FIRE IN JYATHA RESTAURANT CAUSES

Kathmandu, 9 Sept.:Property worth Rs. 2.7 million was destroyed in a fire
at an eatery in Jyatha in the capital Sunday.
Assets of Nepali Typical Kitchen were destroyed.
First reports said an electric short circuit caused the fire.
