NC JOINS ANTI-KING PROTEST WHEN IT OPPOSED EFFORTS DURING PANCHAYAT TO RESTRICT MOVEMENT OF BP KOIRALA Kathmandu, 20 Sept.: Former King Gyanendra arrived in Pokhara Thursday amid threats by ruling and opposition parties to obstruct his visit of Gandak and Dhaulagiri anchals. The parties have threatened to call bands of districts he will visit making Pokhara his base to offer puja and prayers at temples. The parties are restricting the right of a citizen to free movement and worship. The participation of NC is particularly ironic. During the panchayat era, it protested moves of government supporters to obstruct visit of BP Koirala by closing down airports and coming out of roads to restrict his movement. The parties pushing for an authoritarian state by restricting other s from worship, speaking and moving around freely around the country. The former king was greeted by supporters along as the highway as he drive to the resort town from the capital nnnn.
