NEPALIS IN USA PROVIDE ASSISTANCE TO SHELTER HOME FOR MOTHERS Kathmandu, 27 Sept.: Ama Ghar (mother's house), a shelter run by social worker Dilshova Shrestha has got financial assistance of Rs. 551,350 from Nepalese organizations in USA, RSS reports. The assistance was collected by social network Sajha dot.com operated in Boston state of the United States of America. Network's operator San Pradhan sent the amount to his father (Madan Mohan Pradhan)'s bank account at the Siddhartha Bank. The senior Pradhan visited the Ama Ghar based at Rabhi Bhawan in the capital today and handed over the cheque to Shrestha. Receiving the cheque, Shrestha expressed happiness over the kind help from Nepalese sisters and brothers living abroad. Presently, the Ama ghar has been a shelter for 36 elderly women, three elderly men and 49 helpless children. Nnnn JEEP ACCIDENT INJURES EIGHT Kathmandu, 27 Sept.: A total of eight passengers were injured in a jeep accident at Jhyas of Lapsephedi VDC, the bordering VDC of Kathmandu with Sindhupalchowk district, this morning, RSS reports.. The accident took place when the jeep (Ba 7 Cha 4604) heading towards Bhotechour from Kathmandu to bring milk fell some 100 meters off the road after being out of control. Condition of the injured Kami Singh Ghalan and Lok Bahadur Bhujel of Lapsephedi VDC-8 is critical and are undergoing treatment at the Jorpati-based Medical College. Other injured are undergoing treatment at health centers at Sankhu, according to the District Police Office, Sindhupalchowk. Nnnn NSP D JOINS OPPOSITON Kathmandu, 27 Sept.:Nepal Sadbhavana Party (Anandidevi) has warned the ruling party, the Unified CPN (Maoist), against taking the country on the course of confrontation with the intention of sticking in power for long, RSS reports. The meeting of the National Work Execution Committee held on September 25 and 26 also accused the UCPN (Maoist) of disturbing the peace in the country by taking it towards confrontation. It decided to launch a struggle for safeguarding democracy working together with the democratic forces. The NSP (A) meeting concluded that the present government should go and a government of national unity should be constituted to end the current political deadlock. It suggested that this could be done by calling a national conference of all the political parties and that the NSP (A) would request the other political parties for the same. It also decided call on the government to check the market inflation, shortage of essential goods and commodities and black marketing and roll back the hike in prices of various goods with immediate effect. Acting National President of the party, Devendra Mishra, presided over the meeting. nnnn
