ROCK FALL BLOCKS RATNA RAJMARJ LINKING KOHALPUR, SURKHET Kathmandu, 3 Sept. Rock fall overnight triggered by heavy rainfall has blocked the Ratna Rajmarg linking Kohalpur and Surkhet disrupting movement of vehicles as hundreds of passengers were stranded on both sides of the highway. Nepal Army (NA) has called for additional help to remove the rocks to reopen the highway. Heavy rain has caused washed away roads and flooded VDCs in the terai amid extensive damage. Nnnn SEVERE ACTION AGAINST VDC SECRETARIES THREATENED Kathmandu, 3 Sept.: Local development ministry has again warned severe action VDC secretaries who didn’t report for work by last Wednesday. Government doesn’t have statistics on number of village officials who have returned since thel order was issued. Most VDC secretaries work out of district headquarters amid feeling of insecurity in villages. nnnn
