SUSHIL KOIRALA, PRACHANDA MEET Kathmandu, 5 Sept.: NC President Sushil Koirala said Wednesday he discussed peace and constitution at a meeting with Maoist Chairman Prachanda who one day earlier rejected main opposition demand Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai should make way for a national consensus government. Both Prachanda and Bhattarai rejected the demand. The Maoist chief said a NC-led government ahead of likely elections is unacceptable without promulgation of a constitution that incorporates Maoist demands like federalism and other issues. Maoists are pushing their agenda even without elections for a constituent assembly(CA) which has to promulgate a basic law The ruling party is also pushing for a brief CA reinstatement rejected by KOirala at Wednesday’s meeting. nnnn
