THIRD ATTEMPT BY CABINET TO APPOINT IGP
Kathmandu, 13 Sept.: The cabinet meets again Thursday to recommend name of a successor of IGP Rabindra Pratap Shah who is being superannuated Friday.
The cabinet meets for the third time at four in the afternoon to appoint Shah’s successor.
A meeting of Maoists heading the government and the Madeshi Morcha in governmentis meeting ahead of the cabinet to sort out differences.
Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai and Deputy Prime Minister Bijaya Kumar Gachedhar are supporting different candidates amid threats from Gachedhar he’ll resign from government if his candidate isn’t appointed.
The differences have cropped at a time when legislative elections are expected.

Kathmandu, 13 Sept.: Supporters of Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai, who is vice-chairman of UCPN Maoist, are boycotting Saturday’s meeting of All Nepal Hotel and Restaurant Association’s national meet in Pokhara,
The venue was unilaterally shifted to Pokhara from the capital, Bhattarai supporters said.
