Kathmandu, 5 Sept.: The CPN-Maoist led by Mohan Baidya has made public its 70-point demands to be presented to the government and decided to go for an agitation if the demands are not met, RSS reports.
The Central Committee meeting of the party held in the capital from August 30 to September 2 had finalised the demands.
Unveiling the meeting decisions through a news conference here today, party Chairman of Baidya said the demands will be presented before the government within September 10 and would launch an agitation to get the party's voice addressed. Peaceful agitation will be our first priority, but we do not hesitate to launch an armed agitation if the demands are not addressed, he warned.
Scrapping of the 1950 treaty, security treaty of 1965, Mahakali treaty, BIPPA and other unequal treaties with India, and the provision of direct investment system by foreign embassies and INGOs, prevention of the entry of foreign investment in Nepali media, non implementation of ordinances related to disputed issues, formulation of national security policy, guarantee of proportional and inclusive representation in every state apparatus are among those demands put forth by the party.
The party has also decided to launch a campaign against corruption after mid-September.
Stating that unity convention with the UCPN ( Maoist) is not possible, Baidya stressed the need of seeking a solution to the disputed issues through a roundtable conference. He demanded a probe into financial irregularities reported inside the Maoist cantonments and said that the issues of the Maoist combatants discharged from the camps be addressed.

Rana made this remark while talking to media persons at Bharatpur Airport today. Stating that the current situation has been created in the country as the major three political parties had tried to impose authoritarianism, he said we should go for fresh mandate by holding elections to the parliament not to repeat these activities in the days ahead.
Rana said agreement made by the three parties would not be acceptable to all and added that there was a need of holding wider discussions among political parties for a political outlet.
Responding to query of media persons, he said there will be no change in his party's view in favour of the monarchy as the party had already voted in favour of republicanism. nnnn
INDIA, NEPAL DISTRICT OFFICIALS DISCUSS CONTROL OF FAKE INDIAN CURRENCY MOVEMENT ACROSS BORDER
Kathmandu, 5 Sept.: The Nepal-India Border Management Coordination Meeting held between border district administration and security officials on Tuesday in Siliguri in Darjeeling of India with an objective of minimizing criminal activities in the border, border encroachment and minimization of elephant terror, concluded in a harmonious environment, RSS reports from Darjeeling, India..
Present in the meeting were Chief District Officers (CDOs) of Jhapa, Ilam, and Panchthar and security officials and magistrate of Darjeeling of India.
Partaking from Nepalese delegation was CDO Narendraraj Sharma, whereas Darjeeling Magistrate Dr. Sumitra Mohan was on behalf of India.
CDO Sharma informed that the meeting discussed controlling of border encroachment and Dasgaja, repair of border pillars, controlling criminal activities and smuggling in border, and identification of those carrying weapons, and stopping shelter of criminals, controlling fake currency, drugs, human trafficking, customs simplification and increasing banking and money exchange transactions.
Likewise, they also agreed to form a joint task force for minimizing conflict between humans and elephants in Jhapa district of Nepal with representatives of both countries in local level and mobilizing joint patrol across the border for elephant patrol.
