Bodde presents his credentials to President Dr Ram Baran Yadav Monday, Nnnn MAOISTS IMPOSING TOTALITARIAMISN SAYS KAMAL THAPA Kathmandu, 8 Sept.: Chairman of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Nepal, Kamal Thapa, blamed the unified CPN-Maoist for trying to impose totalitarianism in the country. Addressing an extensive meeting of the Sindhuli-Kathmandu Liaison Society in the Capital on Saturday, he said the only alternative to ending totalitarianism was the elections to the Constituent Assembly. RPP-Nepal Chairman Thapa said democracy in the country was entrapped in crisis as the UCPN-Maoist made the Nepali Congress and CPN-UML its followers and that instability, anarchism and uncertainty was flourishing in the nation. The meeting also formed an eleven-member new committee of the Society led by Shalikram Majhi. Nnnn UML TO GO ON PROTESTS FROM MID-SEPT. SAYS POKHREL Kathmandu, 8 Sept.: Secretary of the CPN-UML Shanker Pokharel has warned that his party would organise stern protests from mid-September, RSS reports from Rukum. Speaking at a news conference organised by Press Chautari Nepal, Rukum Chapter, he said the protest against the incumbent government is inevitable due to Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai's working style. In a different note, he said the best alternative to the current political crisis was fixing the date for elections forging consensus on the disputed issues of the constitution that appeared during the constitution writing in the Constituent Assembly or going to new elections through the due process. UML leader Pokhrel stressed the need of President's active role to preserve the constitution as he was the preserver and protector of the interim constitution. Nnnn MAOIST MINISTERS SAY THEIR PARTY COMMITTED TO FIND AN OUTLET TO DEADLOCK Kathmandu, 8 Sept.: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Posta Bahadur Bogati, has said his party was committed to an outlet to the present political crisis, RSS reports. Inaugurating the Fourth General Assembly and Second Convention of the Federation of Contractors Association of Nepal (FCAN), Bogati, also his party UCPN-Maoist's secretary said the tendency not to allow institutionaliSation of change as per the people's desire has not allowed an outlet to the country from political crisis. He said Nepali Congress and CPN-UML disrupted the constitution making and they are responsible for prolonging the crisis. Bogati also assured the construction entrepreneurs on behalf of the government to amend some rules and laws to resolve the problems in the sector. Minister for Peace and Reconstruction, Top Bahadur Rayamajhi was of the same view as Bogati on the country facing crisis and added his party was ready to step down from the government if there was consensus on federalism with identity. The UCPN- Maoist party's sister organiSation in-Charge Janardan Sharma said his party will take initiative for fulfilling the 45- point demands put forth by the entrepreneurs with the government. FCAN Chairman Jayaram Lamichhane and entrepreneur Bikram Pandey also called on the government for special initiative for resolving problems in the sector. nnnn
