APF WINS WOMEN’S T20 CHAMPIONSHIP Kathmandu, 3 Oct :Armed Police Force (APF) lifted the Wai Wai Women´s National T20 Cricket Tournament ChampionshipWednesday. It defeated Region No 5 (Nepalgunj) by 34 runs in the final at the Pokhara Stadium on Wednesday. APF scored 110 runs for loss of five wickets in 20 overs Madhu Thapa scored 41 runs off 39 balls Nepalgunj scored 76 runs for five wickets in the allotted overs. Laxmi Chaudhary scored 35 runs off 59 balls nnnn RESULT IN EDUCATION INVESTMENT POOR Kathmandu, 3 Oct.:: Prime Minister and Chancellor of Purbanchal University (PU) Dr Baburam Bhattarai has said that although a huge budget is invested in education sector, production of quality and skilled human resource has not yet been possible due to varied reasons, RSS reports from Itahari. Attending the sixth convocation ceremony of the University at Goghgaun of Indrapur, Morang district the Prime Minister stressed that educated class should gear up for building the nation and sought end to the strike culture in the education sector. On the occasion, the Prime Minister conferred graduation certificates on the students completing bachelor's and master's degree from the University. Problems in the education sector could not be resolved by imprisoning University and college office bearers, he added. Stating that Nepal is rich in natural resources and herbs, PM Bhattarai stressed the need of utilizing such assets in the promotion of country's tourism and boosting up nation's economy. Also speaking on the occasion, culture expert Satya Mohan Joshi said although Nepal is rich in cultural diversity, it could not be utilized for the sake of the promotion of cultural tourism. nnnn
