CPN MAOIST TO CONTINE ANTI-INDIA CAMPAIGN
Kathmandu, 13 Oct.: The CPN-Maoist has instructed its youth wing to intensify “anti-Indian” protests to control “ foreign intervention ” in Nepal, The Kathmndu Post writes.
Party Secretary Netra Bikram Chand instructed the National Volunteers’ Bureau to completely stop the ‘illegal and arbitrary entry’ of Indian vehicles to Nepal. In the ongoing national convention, he presented a document urging the cadres to launch an agitation against Indian companies that are involved in Upper Karnali, Arun III and Koshi High Dam projects.
The CPN-Maoist has said protests against Indian hydro companies will continue until the government scraps the deal signed with them. The bureau plans to start a campaign against social malpractices including corruption, hooliganism, gambling and black marketing after Friday. The party has assembled ex-combatants in the volunteer’s bureau and is working to develop it as a fighting force. Some 700 members, who are attending the gathering, have demanded that the wing also expose the corruption harboured by UCPN (Maoist) leaders in the PLA camps.
