GOVT. PROVIDES DETAILS OF CANTONMENT EXPENSES Kathmandu, 4 Oct.: Government Thursday submitted details of expenses of cantonments where former Maoist fighters are kept for the integration in society and Nepal Army. The details were submitted for the first time to a special committee headed ex-officio by the premier amid charges of misuse of billions of rupees. The committee Thursday decided to give opportunity to the former Maoist combatants who didn’t pass tests for officer level to be recruited in Nepal Armyat at non-officer rank. They number four candidates. UCPN Maoist was pressed by dissidents I oarty to launch own investigatiointo irregularities in cantoments. INTO UNCERTAINTY Kathmandu, 4 Oct.: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sushil Koirala has accused the incumbent government of pushing the country into further uncertainty, RSS reports from Kirtipur.. “NC will strike no deal with any political force against democracy”, said Koirala while addressing the 15th Ganesh Man Singh memorial meeting and annual general assembly of a cooperative at Kirtipur. He further said that the country is going through a serious crisis due to the totalitarian character of the Maoists. Speaking on the occasion, Nepali Congress General Secretary Prakash Man Singh said that the politicians need to learn patience and relentless struggle from the life of late Ganesh Man Singh. He further blamed the UCPN (Maoist) for hindering the consensus formation. Also speaking at the programme, NC central committee member Dr Ram Sharan Mahat said that the people were at the receiving end due to price hike and corruption in the country. nnnn
