NC CAMP FOR TOWN PRESIDENTS
Kathmandu, 30 Oct.: The Nepali Congress (NC) is all set to organize a three-day gathering of its town presidents across the country from Saturday, RSS reports from Bhaktapur..
Madhyapur Town Committee gave the information at a press conference on Tuesday.
“Town presidents from all 58 municipalities will take part in the gathering”, said Asta Kumar Kaben, President of NC Madhyapur Town Committee.
At the gathering, President Sushil Koirala, senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba, vice president Ram Chandra Poudel and general secretaries Prakash Man Singh and Krishna Prasad Sitaula will impart training to the town presidents.

NAI PUBLICATION AWARDS ANNOUNCED
Kathmandu, 30 Oct.: The Nai Publication has decided to present this year's international awards to Prof. Dr Gerard Toffin of France and to Dr Haruhar Sharma, an American national of Nepali origin, RSS reports.
Anthropologist Dr Toffin will be honoured with the Nai Derukh International Award carrying a purse of Rs. 300,000.
Similarly, Sharma is to be honoured with the Nai Derunikha International Award that carries a purse of Rs. 200,000.
The publication has decided to award Dr Toffin for his contribution in promoting Nepal's image through the articles on Nepali culture and anthropology.
Similarly, Sharma is to be awarded in recognition of his contribution to Nepal's health, education and culture.

PM SAYS GOVT. ISN’T OBSTACLE
Kathmandu, 30 Oct : Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai has said that the government would not be an obstacle to the
Consensus, RSS reports.
Talking to the media persons at tea reception organized by the CPN-UML at its headquarters, Balkhu, on Tuesday, the prime minister said that the talks among the major political parties were underway to end the current political impasse. He said the government would accept agreement if political leaders forge consensus in any issue.
Prime Minister Bhattarai further said that he, in the capacity of the Prime Minister, and the government would not be an obstacle to implement the consensus made by the political parties.
