PM SAYS HE’LL RESIGN ONLY WITH GURANTEE OF CONSTITTION Kathmandu, 14 Oct.: Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai has said that he would not resign from his post till the guarantee of promulgating a new constitution, RSS reports. Prime Minister Dr Bhattarai, who spent a night at Dalit settlement in Fulkaha-6, Manarawa of Mahottari district on Saturday, made the remark while interacting with Musahar Dalit people this morning. He made it clear that he would not unseat till there was promulgation of a new constitution guaranteeing the rights of people who have been exploited and deprived of opportunities for a long. 'I would immediately resign from the post on condition that the political parties should forge consensus for the promulgation of a new constitution', he added. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Dr Bhattarai inaugurated Gaushala Multiple Campus based in Gaushala this morning. It is learnt that the Prime Minister held interaction with locals of Aurahi on the premises of Aurahi higher secondary level today. Prime Minister Dr Bhattarai is scheduled to return Kathmandu this [Sunday] afternoon. Nnnn LANDSLIDE CASUES HEAVY LOSS IN EAST Kathmandu, 14 Oct.: Loss worth over Rs 40 million was incurred due to landslide and flood that occurred in Barhabise and Dhupu of Sankhuwasabha a week ago, according to the information provided by local civil society to the local administration, RSS reports from Sankhusabga. At least eight people lost their lives and two sustained critical injuries in the landslide. The landslide caused damages to 20 households and swept away livestock and two houses. Landslide victims of Barhabise bazaar area had provided details of loss worth over Rs 40 million to the District Administration Office, Sankhuwasabha. Details of loss caused by landslide in Dhupu Jyamire-8 have yet to be established. A team of Finance Minister and Home Minister had directed the local administration to provide relief to landslide victims some days ago. Nnnn GACHHADAR REVEALS SOME POLICEMEN HAVE LINKS WITH CRIMINAL ELEMENTS Kathmandu, 14 Oct.: Deputy Prime Minister Bijaya Kumar Gachhadar has said the Home Ministry has adopted a zero-tolerance policy against immoral, unprofessional, illegal and crime-related activities, RSS reports. Addressing a function organized to mark the 57th Police Day at the police headquarters, Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Gachchhadar said if such elements are allowed to enter the police organization they would contaminate the whole structure. He directed the police force to remain alert to not make such elements sneak into the organization. He also extolled the contributions made by enthusiastic members of the police organization to ensure security to people by facing enormous challenges since its establishment. The ideal of Nepal Police is to serve the people, the Home Minister said, the dedication to people is the base of the true energy of the Nepal Police. Nepal Police IGP Kuber Singh Rana pledged that the Police Organization would perform its duty with professional ethics being sensitive to human rights protection issues. On the occasion, Home Minister Gachchhadar offered flower to Amar Police Monument and also gave away letter of appreciation to family members of the police personnel, who laid down their lives in course of performing duty for the welfare of the country and country people.
