PM SAYS NOT INTERESTED IN JOBWITH TIED-UP LIMBS Kathmandu, 12 Oct.: Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai has said that he was not interested in sticking to power with 'tied-up limbs' except to serve the country and the people, RSS reports from Gorkha.. Laying foundation of the science building of Amar Jyoti Janata Higher Secondary School, Luintel, in Gorkha district on Friday, the prime minister said that country's fluid political situation was hampering though he was willing to extend a full support to the school. Dr Bhattarai is also the former student of the same school and scored the highest marks in the SLC examinations in 2026 B.S. The prime minister said that the enemies of people were not approving the ordinances endorsed by the Cabinet meeting to provide education to the poor children. On the occasion, the prime minister also said that World Bank's support would be taken for the development of technical education in the country. Dr Bhattarai also said that a polytechnic college would be established at Palungtar of Gorkha and the Pokharithok-Turture road section would be blacktopped. Also speaking at the programme, secretary at the Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development Shital Babu Regmi said local fund would be mobilized for country's educational development. On the occasion, Indian Ambassador to Nepal Jayant Prasad said that India has been a longstanding partner of Nepal in its quest for progress and the progress and prosperity of Nepalese was linked with the progress and prosperity of India. The school building is being built at a cost of Rs 43.65 million with Indian assistance under the Nepal-India Economic Cooperation Programme. nnnn NOBODY’S AUTHORITARIANISM WILL LAST SAYS SUSHIL KOIRALA Kathmandu.12 Oct.: Nepali Congress president Sushil Koirala said that nobody's authoritarianism would last in a democracy, RSS reports.. Addressing at separate party workers' gatherings at Santaliya and Naurigaudi in Betahani VDC, Banke district today, he said the UCPN (Maoist)'s tendency to stick to power at any cost was heading towards authoritarianism. "The history of the Nepali Congress is a testimony that never has the party bowed down to any kind of authoritarianism and neither it will to the UCPN (Maoist)'s authoritarianism," he said. He alleged that the prime minister and his party were the obstacles to national consensus and said as the largest political party, it was the responsibility of the UCPN (Maoist) to be more responsible. Reiterating that the Nepali Congress was not in favour of reviving the Constituent Assembly, NC president Koirala said it would be better to go for fresh election in deference to the democratic values. He called on the party cadres to work for expanding the party's organizational base with high morale. Also today, NC president Koirala went to the house of democracy fighter Sarbagyaman Shrestha at Bulbuliya in Nepalgunj and inquired about his health. RSS nnnn
