RELIEF FOR ILAM LANDSLIDE VICTIMS

The meeting chaired by Chief District Officer, Ilam, Baburam Khatiwada decided to provide relief at the doorsteps of the deceased.
Likewise, the meeting also decided to constitute a relief committee under the convenorship of Major of Nepal Army Mekh Bahadur Gurung, with five persons each from Nepal Police and Armed Police as well as political party representatives, journalists, and Red Cross workers.
The Kolbung and Kanyam VDC secretaries were directed to submit the details of loss from the incident within seven days at the District Administration Office by coordinating with the concerned bodies.
Likewise, CDO Khatiwada informed that a loader will be put on standby in the incident site by mid- November to open the damaged Mechi Highway.
The Ilam Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Forest Products Entrepreneurs District Committee Ilam have pledged to provide a relief of Rs. 10,000 to each of the family of the deceased.
Bodies of six out of the 14 missing in the landslide in Hanspokhari of Kolbung- 1 of the Mechi Highway at 8:00 pm on Sunday have been found.
The bodies of Rabi Gupta, and Sharan Pradhan of Fikkal and Dawa Sherpa of Darjeeling were identified, police said.
