TOURIST ARIVALS JUMP 15.2 PERCENT Kathmandu, 2 Oct.: Tourist arrivals increased 15.2 percent in the first nine months of 2012 compared to the same period the previous year as 426,118 visitors arrived until end of September, Department of Immigration said. Of them, 138, 146 Indians visited Nepal in the period under review. Altogether 27,668 Americans and 22, 056 Britons visited Nepal famed for Mount Everest and Lumbini—the birthplace of The Buddha. Nnnn SECOND JET OF NAC JOINS FLEET Kathmandu, 2 Oct.: Following repairs, the second Boeing 757 of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has been put into service on international routes. NAC flies to Hong Kong, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Dubai and Doha.. With shortage of aircraft, NAC hasn’t been able to benefit from increasing tourist arrivals as other international airlines fly into Nepal. nnnn
