UPDATE RULING COALITION SEEKS SUPPORT FOR BUDGET Kathmandu, 29 Oct. Ruling coalition Monday sought support for the annual budget approved only at the beginning of the fiscal year mid-2012. The governing parties decided at a meeting to bring the remaining budget as government faces a financial crunch. Maoists obstructed budget presentation when they were in opposition snatching the document as it was being presented in parliament by Finance Minister Surendra Pandey of UML. The governing parties also decided to seek support of parties for reinstatement of the constituent assembly(CA). nnnn NC CENTRAL COMMITTEE WEDNESDAY Kathmandu, 29 Oct.: A meeting of the main opposition NC central committee is beinh held Wednesday. The meeting will discuss official position whether to reinstate CA or go for assembly elections. President Sushil Koirala has been pressing for assembly elections while senior leaders Sher Bahadur Deuba and Ram Chandra Paudel are lobbying for CA reinstatement. Nnnn REMAINING DOLE FOR MAOAIST FIGHTERS BEING DISTRIBUTED Kathmandu. 29 Oct.: Remaining second and last golden handshake from government for 13,000 plus former Maoist fighters who opted for voluntary retirement is being distributed from Wednesday. The money will be distributed through ADB cheques with district administration help. Nnnn CPN MAOIST MEET ADJOURNED UNTIL THURSDAY UPDATE Kathmandu. 29 Oct.: Central committee meeting of the CPN Maoist was adjourned until Thursday. Chairman Mohan Baidhaya presented a report on preparation for the general convention Monday. nnnn
