BUDGET UPDATE Kathmandu, 20 Nov.: Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai Tuesday presented a budget ordinance for eight month of the current fiscal year to President Dt. Ram Baran Yadav Tuesday after cabinet approval. Government expects the president to promulgate the ordinance. Opposition in a statement said the doors to consensus have been closedand charged the document was unilaterally approved by the cabinet. MORE. LAST RITES OF 60,000 GURKHAS KILLED FIGHTING ALONGSIDE BRITISH ARMY HELD Kathmandu, 20 Nov.: Last rites began Tuesday along a river bank in Syangjha district for an estimated 60,000 Gurkha soldiers killed or missing while fighting with British army in World War I and II. The agency helping to conducting the rites for the eternal peace of the dead and missing will continue until Thursday and charged British government never informed the loved ones or paid compensation. Last rites are being conducted for 18 castes and tribes when British Army Chief Sir Peter Wall is in Nepal. He returns home Wednesday.
