A bandh completely paralyzed life in Dhangadi. nnnn PRESIDENT’S MOVE IRRELEVANT SAYS DPM SHRESTHA Kathmandu, 24 Nov : Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, has termed the President setting the deadline for the parties to form a national consensus government as irrelevant, RSS reports from Biratnagar.. Speaking in the party workers´ meet organized by the UCPN (Maoist) District Working Committee, Morang here on Saturday, he said the President should have given the call for constituting a government of national consensus at the time of the dissolution of the Constituent Assembly itself, but calling for the same now is irrelevant. DPM Shrestha claimed that the present government would stay put until there is national consensus no matter how hard the President presses the Prime Minister to quit. Shrestha who is also the Vice-chairman of the UCPN (Maoist), said that national consensus would not be possible until the Nepali Congress and the CPN-UML come to a consensus on topics like federalism. He added that there would also not be a change of government. Deputy Prime Minister Shrestha said that although national consensus was needed for the national development, it was becoming more elusive due to the non-cooperation by the opposition parties. Nnnn NEPAL SCOUT JUBILEE OBSERVED Kathmandu, 24 Nov.:The Nepal Scouts organised a rally on Saturday morning on the occasion of the diamond jubilee of the Nepal Scouts and 100 years of the World Girl Guide and Girl Scouts, RSS reports. The rally that started from Dasarath Stadium converged at Scout Office Lainchaur in the capital. The chief guest of the rally was NPC Member and Prof. Shiva Kumar Rai and scouts officials of Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur had participated, said co-Chief Commissioner, Puspalata Bhattarai. Awareness programme will be run until March 10, 2013, said Bhattarai. Nnnn THREE NEWSPAPERS MERGE IN BUTWAL Kathmandu, 24 Nov.: Three daily newspaper s published from Butwal have been merged and will be published from a single publicationm RSS reports from Butwal.. They are the Dainik Patra daily, Janasangharsha daily and Swadhin daily. Dainik Patra published from Butwal Media Publication Pvt. Ltd, Janasangharsha from High-Tech Offset Publication Pvt Ltd and Swadhin published from Swadhin Publication Pvt. Ltd. will now be published from Butwal Media Publication Pvt. Ltd. Agreement has been reached to publish Dainik as daily, Janasangharsha as weekly and Swadhin as monthly. The agreement was signed between Rajendra Prasad Dhwoju, chairman of Butwal Media, Maheshman Singh, chairman of High Tech, and DR Ghimire, chairman and Tilak Acharya, editor of Swadhin. The agreement was said to be for moving ahead with a spirit of professional journalism with editorial freedom, honor and social responsibility. nnnn
