MAOIST CHAIMAN HOLDS DISCUSSIONS WITH FORMER FINANCE MINISTERS Kathmandu, 11 Nov,: Maoist Chairman Prachanda held discussions with former finance ministers Sunday and sought their support for Monday’s promulgation through ordinance a national budget for the remaining eight moths of the current fiscal year.. Nnnn UML’S POKHREL CALLS FOR ELECTIONS Kathmandu, 11 Nov.: CPN-UML Secretary Shanker Pokharel has said there is no alternative but to go for fresh election in a bid to end current political crisis, RSS reports from Golbazzar, Siraha.. At a press meet organized by Press Chautari Nepal, Siraha chapter, at Lahan on Sunday morning, he said the contentious issues of constitution could be settled through dialogue. Leader Pokharel ruled out any chance of revival of the Constituent Assembly (CA) no matter what the UCPN (Maoist) has been raising voice for this. Pokharel, who was also the former Minister for Information and Communications, added, ´We held dialogue with Maoists for a long time to this date hoping they would come to the line. But, it was meaningless. So, Baburam Bhattarai-led government should be toppled through struggle´. Asked why the opposition parties has been provoking the President to stop full-fledged budget in the critical hour, he replied that resolution of each problem should be explored through legal and constitutional measure adding that the incumbent caretaker government could not bring in full budget as per the constitution and precedents. ´It is always inept for the caretaker government to bring full-fledged budget. The constitution has not given any indication for the introduction of full budget´, he further said. He also cautioned the Madhes-based parties to not get stuck on the demand of one Madhes one province. Nnnn NNNN
