NC CAMP FOR MUNICIPAL CHIEFS Kathmandu, 3 Nov.: A camp is being inaugurated Saturday by President Sushsil Koirala for chiefs of 58 municipalities in Bhaktapur. Besides Koirala, senior leaders Sher Bahadur Deuba and Ram Chandra Paudel will also impart training on federalism and other issues. A similar camp was also conducted for district presidents. Nnnn CPN MAOIST CENTRAL COMMITTEE MEET CONCLUDES SATURDAY Kathmandu, 3 Nov. Chairman Mohan Baidhaya will answer points raised by 44 central committee members at a concluding session Saturday of CPN Maoist. The meeting was convened to discuss intra-party issues and a 5 January 2013 first general convention.. The party was launched this year after splitting from ruling UCPN Maoist following ideological and other differences. Discussions were held on Chairman Baidhaya’s report for convention preparations and the document is being circulated down to districts. nnnn UNOFFICIAL DISCUSSIONS BETWEEN BIG THREE AND MADESH MORCHA IS BEING HELD Kathmandu, 3 Nov.: Unofficial discussion s is being held between leaders of the Big Three and Madeshbadi Morcha or front aligned with Maoists leading the government Saturday. Inconclusive discussions were held Friday following agreement to go for elections sometime in April 1213. The meeting was held after President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav asked the leading political players to end a prolonged deadlock leading to uncertainty. Ruling and opposition party leaders differed on who will lead a national consensus government to conduct polls for which a constitution has to be amended. Election for what and how many seats? There’s no agreement on this as well. A 21-party front supporting the government reiterated its support Friday night after earlier asking government to introduce a full budget and reshuffle government if there’s no agreement with the opposition. The front meets again Monday. Ruling Maoist Spokesman Agni Sapota said Saturday official talks between the BigThree and the Madeshbadi front will, be held if there’s a breakthrough in unofficial talks. Nnnn SURYA BAHADUR THAPA DINNER DIPLOMACY Kathmandu, 3 Nov.: Rashtriya Kanasjakti Party Chairman held a dinner Friday at his residence for former prime ministers Sher Bahadur Deuba,, Jhalanath Khanal, Nadhav Kumar Nepal and Lokendra Bahadur Chand, Annapurna Post writes. Chairman Prachanda wasn’t present. They discussed a democratic front, consensus government, budget and elections on which there was agreement. nnnn
