PRACHANDA ASSAILANT UNHAPPY WITH MAOIST ACCORDING TO CONFESION
Kathmandu, 17 Nov.: It’s come to light Padam Kuwar, who slapped Chairman Prachanda Friday was a former Maoist who was disheartened with the party.
This is indicated in confessions during interrogation by police following
the incident.
“There’s no money to extract bullets from the bodies of my brother and
sister after doing so much for the party,” according to Kantipur. ‘I went from [illar to post for treatment.”.
He complained of getting no help even while helping and working for Maoists secretly during the insurgency.
They were injured during an attack on Myagdhi duing the 1-year insurgency.
Kuwar was training as a cook in Yak and Yeti Hotel to fly to Kapan andworked as a cook at Lumbini Tandoori Restaurant in Shorkhutte and was living in the
city with his brother-in-law.
The government investigation team headed by headed by AIG Nabaraj Dhakal has
been asked to submit a repot within seven days.
Although UCPN Maoist Friday concluded the incident was ‘pre-planned and conspiratorial’- to derail peace and constitution drafting, the party is
pursuing an internal investigation.

Kuwar is undergoing treatment at the city’s police hospital for security
reasons as well/
He was badly bruised and battered after a mauling by Maoist workers after
Prachanda was slapped on the left cheek.
Television networks repeated his comments in parliament after UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal, who was then prime minister, was slapped by a party worker, in
Sunsari 22 months ago.
‘I am afraid we will be greeted with flying shoes,” the Maoist chief told parliament during a failed bid to elect a prime minister for the 17th time; Prachanda was a prime ministerial candidate.
Prachanda, Khanal and even NC President Sushil Koirala were
attacked by party workers and activists other parties indicating widespread
dissatisfaction within them from within the party.
