PRESIDENT INVITES PARTIES, OTHER DETAILS UPDATE Kathmandu, 28 Nov. President Dr.. Ram Baran Yadav invited parties to a meeting Thursday for consultations as a deadline of the head of state to parties to assemble a consensus government to succeed Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai will be missed. Two main opposition parties NC and UML decided Wednesday to ask the president to extend the deadline. A meeting of NC office bearer decided not name the party’s candidate for prime minister to succeed Premier Bhattarai. General Secretary Krishna Prasad Shitula the name of the candidate will be made public only after leadership of successor government under NC is certain. A meeting of the central committee to name the party candidate wasn’t held. Nnnn . UML POLITBURO MEET CONCLUDES Kathmandu, 28 Nov.: A two-day meet of opposition UML concluded Wednesday with support extended to main opposition NC to lead a consensus government to succeed an administration of Baburam Bhattarai, former Finance Minister Surendra Pandey said after the meet.
