PRESIDENT URGES CAUTION ON BUDGET Kathmandu, 12 Nov.: President Dt. Ram Baran Yadav advised caution as Finance Minister Barsha Man Pun briefed him Monday on government plans to announce a budget for the remaining eight months of the current fiscal year. Most wanted by Nepali and Indian police, Yadav faces around five dozen criminal charges in both the countries. SP Niraj Bahadur Shahi said that Yadav’s escape has been a major headache for police. He said that criminal activities along the border were largely under control when Yadav was behind the bars. Security has also been tightened in Araria and Supaul in India after Yadav fled the prison, Hindusthan Daily reported on Sunday. Police along Nepal-India border in both the districts have been directed to remain alert, the newspaper said, quoting SP of Araria Manoj Kumar. The Saptari District Court sentenced Yadav to 20 years in prison for murdering Bikram Prasad Shah, manager of Rajbiraj branch office of Agriculture Development Bank five years ago. Before killing Shah, Yadav robbed him of Rs 3 million. It has been learnt that Yadav entered Nepal after killing businessman Arun Golcha of Forbesganj in India. Police said that Yadav obtained Nepali citizenship from Sunsari in the name of Mahesh Yadav and from Saptari in the name of Mahabir Yadav. Meanwhile, Indian police on Sunday offered a bounty of IRs 100,000 for those who inform security personnel about the whereabouts of Yadav. nnnn
