DHRUBE ON RAMPAGE AGAIN. GOES OFF WITH TAME FEMALE Kathmandu, 26 Dec.: Dhrube, the infamous rogue elephant that had been spreading terror attacking people and demolishing houses in the Madi area here, did it again at local Meghauli last night, RSS reports from Chitwan.. It is reported to have pulled down one house at Meghauli-5 at Sukumbasi Basti last night. Dhrube, according to locals, entered the squatters' settlement in the area and damaged the house of one Shukaram Mushahar. Mushahar managed to run to safety by breaking a hole from one of the partitions in the house after the elephant barged into his house and began pulling things and trampling on goods and drum where rice grains were stored. Similarly, it is learnt to have run away with another old female elephant kept at the Koshi Tappu elephant shelter in Meghauli. A search has been mounted for the missing elephant with the help of three other elephants. The authorities at the Chitwan National Park say that they have traced the whereabouts of Dhrube with the help of radio collar signals. According to them, the notorious elephant Dhrube is in the national park's Tiger Tops area. Nnnn KOIRALA SAYS CA REINSTATEMENT UNACCEPTABLE KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala has said his party would not accept the restoration of the Constituent Assembly because the issues on this were already closed by the party. Talking to media persons at his own residence on Wednesday, President Koirala said the Nepali Congress would not accept the restoration as it was just the UCPN-Maoist's trick to deceive people. Chairman of the UCPN-Maoist Pushpa Kamal Dahal could not be agreed upon as the next prime minister, he argued. "Dahal, though presented as next prime minister by the ruling alliance, cannot be accepted by the NC," he added. Similarly, President Koirala said that the UCPN-Maoist was always making false promises to people and exposing own real character. He reminded that his party proposed him as next prime minister upon only after the request of Maoist Chairman Dahal and the UML. "But, I was not hankering after becoming the prime minister," he added. According to him, the Nepali Congress was open for both talks and agitation or any constitutional measure to give political outlet to the country. Nnnn COLD HITS JHAPA AS WELL Kathmandu, 26 De.: Normal life in the eastern district Jhapa has been affected due to cold, RSS reports from Bhadrapur.. Cold wind since Monday evening has affected the normal life and the flow of service recipient at the government offices has become less. Fewer students were seen in schools due to cold today. Though the mercury has plummeted over the last few days in the district, Jhapa people keep themselves warm in the sun since 10:00 am every day. The people here have felt bitter cold due to the cold wave since early morning on Wednesday. Daily wage-earners, school children and farmers are hit hard due to cold. nnnn
