DHRUBE WON’T BE SHOT SAYS MINISTER Kathmandu, 29 Dec.: Communication Minister Raj Kishore Yadav Friday rejected demands of dear ones of those killed by Dhurbe –dubbed the mad elephant in Chitwan—the tusker won’t be killed. The minister said this even as security teams fanned out into the protected National Chitwan National to shoot dead the tusker—unsuccessfully.’Dhruve wul not be killed,” MinisterYadav said. The elephant has been destroying houses and crops next to the protected forest which is home to other protected and endangered species like the tiger and one-horned rhino. A ranger heading a squad ti kill was transferred after a failed attempt. Opinions are divided why the tusker has gone berserk00 some even suggesting he is seeking a female companion. nnnn
