DIRECTORATE WITH FORMER MAOISTS BEING FORMED IN NA
Kathmandu, 14 Dec. A meeting of the Army Integration Special Committee (AISC) has decided to constitute a National Development, Forest Protection and Disaster Management General Directorate under the leadership of a Major General, RSS reports.
According to Chief Secretary, Lilamani Paudyal, the meeting of the special committee held at the secretariat of the committee at New Baneshwor, today decided to constitute the General Directorate with 4,071 members under the leadership of a Major General.
There will be four Brigadier Generals under the Major General, said Paudyal.
The meeting also decided to constitute the General Directorate with 4,171 members including 1,460 from PLA combatants and 2,711 from other security bodies.
He added the committee also extended the tenure of the special committee for two months and formed a three-member committee to give suggestions for the formation of the General Directorate under the leadership of coordinator of the secretariat of the committee, Balananda Sharma.
The meeting decided to give a chance of voluntary retirement for PLA combatants, who have taken training of the Nepal Army for integration after their selection, once again.
Similarly, the committee also decided to request the PLA combatants, who have not come to take the amount even if opting the voluntary retirement, to come to take the amount by issuing a 35-day and 70-day notice.
The decision was made after the PLA combatants, who have participated in the NA training after choosing integration and passing the selection examination, started to file applications at the special committee secretariat seeking to exit, it is learnt.
The secretariat said that the PLA combatants have filed applications seeking to exit showing various causes including health, household reasons and because positions not fixed which they are to get after the army integration.
The Nepal Army on November 25 had sent 1,442 combatants including 71 officers in the training

DIESEL PLANT BROUGHT INTO OPERATION IN HETAUDA AS MERCURY DIPS
Kathmandu, 14:Dec.: The diesel plant established in Chaukitol in Hetauda Municipality has resumed generation of electricity from today [Friday], RSS reports from Hetauda.
Although the plant had 14 MW capacity, it will produce only 10 MW, said the center.
The plant was operated under the direction of the Nepal Electricity Authority Load Dispatch Division, the Center said.
It will take 2,500 liters of diesel while operating seven diesel machines each hour, the centre said. The plant was repaired one and half years ago
