FIVE MOST WANTED IN SIRAHA ARRESTED Kathmandu, 9 Dec.: A police team from Siraha caught and made public five 'most wanted' criminals from Himchuli Lodge at Gaushala in the Capital on Sunday. Five most wanted criminals of Siraha were arrested nd made public Sunday Khusi Lal Yadav, Pradip Mandal, Jay Kumar Yadav, Dhaneshwor Yadav and Uday Kant Mishra were nabbed. Those arrested were convicted for murder, terrorizing people and other crimes. Bishnu KS scored the vital goal in the 31st minute MORE TOP LEADERSHIP ENCORAGES CORRUPTION Kathmandu, 9 Dec.: Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai said the problem of corruption was severe in the country as it was encouraged from the top political and administrative levels, RSS reports.. Speaking at a programme organized by the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on the occasion of the International Day against Corruption- 2012, Prime Minister Bhattarai said we should not hesitate to say that corruption flourished in the country as it is encouraged from the high political and administrative levels. Bhattarai said "It is not possible to free the nation from the quagmire of corruption from the high level unless a harsh step is taken." He said building a prosperous and cultured society was not possible without eradicating any sorts of corruptions including political, legal, and administrative ones. "My one year long experience has shown that whether corruption and corrupt people finish us rather than our efforts ending corruption," said Prime Minister Bhattarai. He said the government has been working to give complete shape to the CIAA, adding that it has been the matter of shame to fail to appoint leadership positions in various constitutional bodies due to political transition and unhealthy political environment. "It is unfortunate that the ordinances that were submitted to President for necessary amendment of laws regarding the appointment of the vacant posts in the constitutional bodies for four months were not issued," he added. The government has recently formulated five-year national action plan and strategy which has determined different 15 objectives including the work performances, responsible body, time-limitation and monitoring so as to implement the provision of the UN Convention after its endorsement. During the programme, Chairman of the Transparency International Nepal, Bishnu Bahadur KC, said the government, political parties and civil society should be active to control corruption and added that it was unfortunate to have CIAA leadership vacant. President of the Federation of Nepali Journalists, Shiva Gaunle, stressed the need of anti-corruption civil movement if the government bodies and mechanism formed to control corruption became weaker day by day. Secretary of the Commission, Ganeshraj Joshi and Joint-Attorney Badri Prasad Gautam stressed the need of political commitment against corruption and action in united manner. Nnnn IS DRONES KILLS THREE IN PAKISTAN Kathmandu, 9 Dec.: Pakistani intelligence officials say a U.S. drone strike has killed three suspected militants near the Afghan border, AP reports from Pakistan. The two officials say four missiles struck a residential compound Sunday morning near Miran Shah, the main town in the North Waziristan tribal region. The identity of the suspected militants was not known. North Waziristan has been a frequent target of U.S. missile strikes. The tribal region is home to a mix of insurgents from Pakistan, Afghanistan and al-Qaida-linked foreign militant groups. Pakistan publically protests the drone strikes, although officials say Islamabad has secretly supported the program. The intelligence officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to the media. nnnn
