US AMBASSADOR FETES PUSHPA BASNET AT HIS HOME Kathmandu, 15 Dec.: US Ambassador Peter W Bodde Friday welcomed CNN Hero of the Year 2012 Pushpa Basnet to his residence. Bassssnet is thesecond person—both women- to e honoured by the uS relevisionnrtwork. Anuradha Koirala is the first. The US Embassy and congratulated Basnet and her organisation—the Early Childhood Development Centre—for giving shelter to children whose parents are serving prison sentences. Koirala was honoured for her attempts to stop trafficking. Bodde noted that ensuring a good education and a healthy environment for each child was the duty of governments the world over, the embassy said in a statement. nnnn
