PM GREETED WITH BLACK FLAGS FOR SECOND TIME IN TWO DAYS Kathmandu, 8 Dec.: NC and UML students greeted Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai with black flags at Tikapur Saturday. The premier spend the night with a freed Kamaiya in the far-West town. While preparing to return to the capital. The government was greeted with black flags in Dhangadi Friday. The premier said elections for a constituent assembly has to be held sometime in April/May and there was no alternative to the vote to draft a constitution. Nnnn 28TH SAARC FOUNDING DAY BEING OBSERVED SATURDAY Kathmandu, 9 Dec.: The 28th Founding Day of South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) is being observed Saturday. The South Asian regionl organization has been expanded to eight from the originalseven members. Members agreed to bring in Afghanistan into the organization with headquarters in Kathmandu. “Though Saarc may not have been able to achieve all it could or should have during the past 27 years, it certainly has brought its members closer over a common platform to address commons issues, thereby promoting trust and confidence among one another,” said Saarc Secretary General Ahmed Saleem Friday. ,nnnn ONE PERSON KILLED IN JAJARKOT TRACTOR ACCIDENT Kathmandu, 8 Dec.: A person died in a tractor accident occurred at Rangsi of the district on Friday night. The tractor (Bhe 1 Ta 2295) ferrying sand from Bheri River to Pachkatiya fell some 25 meters down the road, RSS reports from Jajatkot.. Bhakta Bahadur Nath, 23, injured seriously in the accident died on the way to hospital, said Chitra Bhadur Gurung, Police Inspector at the District Police Office. Meanwhile, 25-year old Kamal BK injured in the accident has been undergoing treatment at the district hospital, Khalanga. nnnn CHIILD KILLED IN JHAPA ROAD ACCIDENT Kathmandu, 8 Dec.: A child died in a road accident at Topgachhi-5 in Jhapa district along the East-West Highway on Friday night, RSS reports from Damak.. Ashish Rai, 8, of the same area died while undergoing treatment at Neuro Hospital, Biratnagar, after he was knocked by a van (Me 1 Cha 2051), said area police office, Damak . Police have held the vehicle and driver for investigations. nnnn
