PRESIDENT TELLD INDIAN COUNTERPART HE HAS CALLED FOR CONSENSUS Kathmandu, 26 Dec.: : President Dr Ram Baran Yadav, who is presently on an official visit to India, held talks with his Indian counterpart Pranab Mukharjee at the Rastrapati Bhawan, New Delhi on Wednesday, RSS reports.. During the meeting, matters relating to bilateral cooperation and mutual interest were discussed, it is learnt. The President is learnt to have extended an invitation to his Indian counterpart for Nepal visit and in response, the Indian President expressed his wish to visit Nepal at a suitable time in the near future. In response to a query by the Indian President about the ongoing political situation in Nepal, President Dr Yadav shared that he has called the political parties to come to a consensus as quickly as possible so as to ensure new elections to the CA within mid-May. Similarly, Minister of External Affairs of India Salman Khursid called on President Dr Yadav and held discussions on various aspects of Nepal-India relations. President Dr Yadav left here for his India visit on Monday and is scheduled to return to Kathmandu on December 29, SaturdaY. nnnn HELD FOR ILLEGALLY RECOMMENDING CITIZENSHIP TO TIBETAN Kathmandu, 26 Dec.:: Police have arrested Hutaraj Niraula, a VDC secretary in Sindhupalchowk district, for recommending citizenship certificate to a Tibetan, RSS reports from Chautara.. According to the Sindhupalchowk District Police Office, VDC Secretary Niraula had recommended Tibetan Bhawana Tamang as the resident of Gunsa VDC-4 in the district. Based on his recommendation, Assistant Chief District Officer Omkar Prasad Neupane had provided the Nepali citizenship to Tamang on June 17, 2012. The police also apprehended Maila Tamang from Gunsa VDC for testifying as father of Bhawana Tamang. However, Prem Lama who impersonated as Bhawana´s brother has been absconding. Nnnn EC DISCUSSES ELECTIONS EC invites parties for deliberations on draft ordinance RSS Kathmandu, 26 Dec.:: The Election Commission (EC) invited 57 political parties registered at the Commission for deliberations on the draft Ordinance designed to amend and integrate the legislation relating to political parties, RSS reports.. This was the second group of 57 political parties invited for discussion. The Commission had invited another 57 in the first round last Monday. A total of 114 parties are presently registered at the Commission. The Commission has been collecting feedback of the political parties on the amendments it is about to introduce on the legislation concerning political parties. The draft aims to bring changes concerning inclusive structure, internal democracy, institutional development, and transparent and accountable functioning of the political parties. It also incorporates various aspects of formation of political parties, registration of parties, qualification of a parliamentary party, dissolution and fiscal transparency. Nnnn GOLD PRICE SLIPS FURTHER Kathmandu,26 Dec.: Gold price slipped further Wednesday in the local market. Price fell Rs 200 per tola compared to the previous day. The yellow metal was traded for Rs 58,300 per tola. nnnn
