RULING ALLIANCE HAS NO PLACE FOR NC, UML TO LEAD GOVT. Kathmandu, 27 Dec.; An alliance supporting the ruling coalition of Maoists and five Madeshbadi parties Thursday concluded the incumbent government should be given national form to end a prolonged crisis, according to Spokesman Prem Bahadur Singh. It reiterated another option was to choose a government chief from the coalition. The alliance suggested four options to end the crisis. The alliance decided anybody could head the government if there was a package solution by 9 January 9 for constituent assembly elections by mid-May. It called for reinstatement of the assembly opposed by kingmaker and Deputy Prime Minister Bijaya Kumar Gahchedhar who heads coalition of the Madeshbadi parties. nnnn APF CONSTABLE SENTENCED FOR RAPING MINOR Kathmandu, 27 Dec.: Makwanpur District Court Thursday sentenced Armed Police Force constable Roshan Pudasaini to five years in prison for raping a minor and asked to compensate the victim Rs.300,000. The incident occurred 21 October. nnnn
