UML’s RAWAL SAYS PRESIDENT SHOULD FORM UNITY GOVT. Kathmandu 18 Dec.: CPN-UML leader Bhim Rawal has said the President should form a national unity government, terminating the incumbent government with the caretaker status, RSS reports from Kailali. Talking to media persons at Dhangadhi on Tuesday morning, leader Rawal accused Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai of working unilaterally and intending to take the country towards confrontations. The President should constitute a national unity government, taking other parties into confidence to avert possible confrontations and complex situation in the country, he said. The implementation of the past agreement by this government was not possible as the Prime Minister ignored the suggestion of the chairman of own party and tried to act arbitrarily, Rawal claimed. Stating that new election could not be held in May, the UML leader opined that an election government under the leadership of former chief justice could be formed for the six month to ensure the timely election. He said that there was no truth in the news disseminated by the present caretaker government that the responsibility for the strengthening and expansion of the Immigration Office at the Tribhuvan International Airport was given to an India when he was the Home Minister. Rawal made it clear that India was requested only to provide support in terms of equipment and infrastructures for strengthening the airport. On a different note, leader Rawal said that the Far-west Commission which has been constituted by the government recently was irrelevant. "The commission which includes only the seven districts of the Far-west region is only a publicity gimmick," he said. nnnn
