UPDATE ANOTHER DEADLINE EXTENSION BY PRESIDENT Kathmandu, 24 Dec.: President Dr Ram Baran Yadav Monday again Extended a deadline for the fifth time to political parties to select a consensus prime ministerial candidate till December 29 and bfore flying for India. In New Dehi, he’ll have discussions with top leadership including Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh who will host a reception for him. The president for the first time involved all parties in the dissolved Parliament. Prime Minster Baburam Bhattarai and Vice-president Parmananda Jha were Present. The president presented a six-point written proposal for consensus to pParties. The president said he was dissatisfied with parties for their failure to arrive on a consensus. Nnnn SCHOOLS CLOSED DOWN IN TERAI Kathmandu, 24 Dec.: Schools have been closed down from Tuesday in the central and eastern terai for a week until 30 December following a cold wave in the region. The cold wave has claimed several livessss. nnnn
