Kathmandu, 2 Dec Ruling UCPN Maoist secretariat meet Sunday
decided to lobby for a national government under the leadership under
Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai.
Main opposition parties oppose Bhayyarai
Maoists are heading a government with a front of five Madeshbadi
parties.
The decision to give the incumbent government a national character
came with five more days remaining for a second presidential
deadline to assemble a consensus government by Friday.
But main opposition NC and CPN Maoist that split from UCPN Maoist decided Sunday to come out on the streets to topple the government
concluding at a meeting of top leaders of the two parties Bhattarai
government won’t resign.
Meanwhile, UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal told reporters
Sunday Maoist were an obstacle to consensus.
‘Whoever says so, government is an obstacle to consensus,” Khanal
told reports.
