BASTOLA IN COMA, STILL CRITICAL Kathmandu, 4 Jan.: Signs of general improvement have been seen in the health condition of the ailing Nepali Congress leader Chakra Prasad Bastola, RSS reports from Bhadrappur.. Bastola is undergoing treatment at the Medanta Hospital in New Delhi, India, after suffering from brain haemorrhage. According to family sources, Bastola's face has become bright and fresh as the swelling in a part of his brain has receded following an operation for cerebral edema and removal of cough from his lungs and the cleaning of his windpipe. Although signs of slight improvement have been seen in his condition after doctors started feeding him mineral substances through pipe, his condition was described as critical. He is in a deep coma since the last 72 hours. Bastola underwent an operation on his brain for the first time in Siliguri, India, after he was terminally ill suffering from a brain haemorrhage on December 29. He was taken to New Delhi in an air ambulance and admitted to the Medanta Hospital on December 31. Nnnn TWO MOTORCYCLISTS KILLED BY CHITWAN TIPPER Kathmandu, 4 Jan.: Two motorcyclists died on the spot when a sand-laden tipper hit them at Matihani in west Chitwan, RSS reports from Chitwan.. Khem Raj Mahato and Bishal Chaudhary of Patihani-1 died when the tipper (Ba 2 Kha 6161) hit the motorcycle (Na 5 Pa 3163) coming from the opposite direction, confirmed the District Police Office, Chitwan. The youths at their 20s had left home for Manakamana temple for offering worship. The dead bodies of Mahato and Chaudhary have been taken to Bharatpur Hospital for post-mortem. Police have taken tipper and its driver under control, police said. nnnn DPM SHRESTHA SAYS HE’LL RAISE ISSUE OF ARREST OF NEPALI PEACEKEERPER IN LONDON UPDATE Kathmandu, 4 Jan.: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Narayan Kazi Shrestha in immediate comment after arrest by a British agency for the arrest of a Nepali peacekeeper with the UN in Sudan Thursday said the issue was serious and objectionable. Shrestha told Kantipur, :If the information is correct, this is serious and unobjectionable.
