CHAKRA PRASAD BASTOLA IMPROVING IN NEW DELHI HOSPITAL Kathmandu, 30 Jan.: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Chakra Prasad Banstola's health condition has seen gradual improvement, RSS reports from Bhadrapur.. Banstola is undergoing treatment at Medant Hospital, New Delhi, after he suddenly fell unconscious due to brain hemorrhage. He had been transferred to ICU from ventilator after gradual improvement in his health was seen, but he has been receiving treatment keeping at another special treatment unit for the last three days, said his nephew Tara Banstola. The doctors stopped giving oxygen from his mouth now. The infection that was seen on his health was no more and that swelling in his brain was gradually recovering, said Tara quoting the doctors involved in NC leader Chakra Banstola's treatment. However, Banstola has not been able to open his eyes and return to conscious state yet. He went through first surgery in Siliguri of India after he suddenly fell ill due to brain haemorrhage on December 29. Nnnn VETERAN EVEREST CLIMBER ANG NIMA DEAD Kathmandu, 30 Jan,::Ang Nima Sherpa (59) who was one of the oldest serving Sherpa among the Mt. Everest- Khumbu Icefall doctors, passed away in his home village of Pangboche on January 25, 2013, RSS reports.. The 'Icefall Doctors' are Sherpas who set and maintain the safest path through the icefall by laying down a series of ladders across the crevasses. They stay on the mountain maintaining the route and making sure that the ladders and ropes remain in place to ensure safety of the climbers, said Ang Tshering Sherpa, former chairman of Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA). It is an extremely dangerous job with hazards like avalanches, moving glaciers and tumbling seracs threatening them every day, added former Chairman Ang Tshering. nnnn UPDATE DETAILS OF PM, PRESIDENTDISCUSSIONS RSS Kathmandu, 30 Jan.: Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai called on President Dr. Rambaran Yadav as political crisis deepens in the country, RSS reports.. The talks were held at the presidential palace, Sheetal Niwas, this morning as political crisis lingers on for failure to forge consensus among political parties. After the meeting, Prime Minister Dr. Bhattarai said discussions were being held among parties on giving an outlet to the political stalemate by holding election by May end, 2013. "We should seek consensus by keeping election in focus, and efforts for talks are being made for going to election within the date among parties," he said. Bhattarai said he informed the president on efforts being made for consensus among parties. On the occasion, President Dr. Yadav urged him to give an outlet to the existing political stalemate in the country by forging consensus at the earliest. nnnn
