DEFIANT MAOIST LEADERS ENTER BHAKTAPUR
Kathmandu, 26 Jan.Maoist Chairman Prachanda acmpanied bdy Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai defied an opposition theat to prevent the ruling party leaders to enter Bhaktapur to
address a district meet Saturday.
They entered the town even as opposition activists
attempted to stop them at the main entry point at
Sallagari where ruling party and opposition activists
clashed injuring at east 15 persons.
Chairman Prachanda addressed the district meet and
asked parties to join constituent assembly elections.
They later flew to Mohottari and Rautahat to attend
district party meets ahead of a general convention in
February at Hetauda.
Until Friday, Maoists had held meetings at 32 districts
as opposition are also on anti-government protests in the first phase until 8 February in attempts to topple government..
The two leaders were greeted with black flags and
boycotts in the terai.
